Join us on a hike to Snapper Pond to take a look at Belva the bugs’ pond relatives. Find out what types of insects live there and learn about insect life cycles as we dip into the world of aquatic insects right in our own backyard. This program will take place outdoors, so be sure to dress for the weather. We will gather our gear at the nature center and then head to Snapper Pond. Plum Creek Nature Center is an accessible facility. Hike will be approximately 0.5 mile across natural surface trails and uneven terrain. This program is being held in conjunction with the “What’s Bugging Belva?” exhibit on display at the nature center September 1-November 30. The exhibition was organized by the Purdue Agriculture Design Exhibit Center, Purdue University, and is brought to the Forest Preserve through funding provided by The Nature Foundation of Will County. Registration required by Thursday, September 19: 708.946.2216.
